I’m 35 years old and live in Raunistula with my husband and our Labrador retriever, Leenu. You might often spot me out on a dog walk. I'm originally from Lieto, but I've lived in Turku for 15 years. In my free time, I relax with arts and crafts projects, enjoy nature, go swimming, and take motorcycle rides.
I’ve been following politics and social issues for a long time, but the developments in recent years – both in Finland and around the world – have made me increasingly concerned. I want to be part of creating a more just and sustainable future, so I decided to take a step toward more active involvement – that’s why I’m running in the municipal elections.
I hold a Master’s degree in Biology (FM) from the University of Turku. I’ve worked as a quality specialist in various industries – including pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and food – assessing risks and interpreting legislation and regulations to support decision-making. I also have decision-making experience from serving on a housing cooperative board and in a microbiological advisory group. I believe in fact-based decision-making that ensures safety and compliance with the law.
Currently, I am unemployed and actively seeking new job opportunities. This experience has deepened my understanding of the challenges in working life and strengthened my belief in the importance of supporting the unemployed and creating fair, accessible job opportunities for everyone. It also informs my perspective in municipal politics, where decisions must serve the entire community.
To me, the most important thing in politics is fairness – and taking care of one another. I want to build a Turku where everyone receives the support and services they need – whether it’s about youth mental health, employment, or developing our city in a sustainable way. The values of the Social Democratic Party – justice and well-being for all – guide my decision-making.
Turku deserves decision-makers who understand both the everyday challenges people face and the importance of building a sustainable future. I want to be one of them. Join me in building a better Turku – together!
